with you; and, when you died, another angel got their wings.
Patricia Pate Wessinger, 60 was born to Lawrence Pate, Sr. and Lillie Dupree Pate in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 12, 1959.Patrica Wessinger was known as “Pat” to many.
“Pat” received her formal education at Shady Grove High School in Rosedale, Louisiana. She furthered her education at Delta College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and earned an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. She was married to the late Horace Wessinger and they resided in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was employed by the East Baton Rouge Parish School System where she retired from the EBR Transportation System. She worked for Volunteers of America, and Independent Living as a Personal Care Assistant. “Pat” accepted Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior at the age of 7 and was united with New Light Baptist, but later joined Community Bible Baptist where she was in the Choir.
Patricia Ann Pate Wessinger departed this life Thursday, May 23, 2019 at her residence in Baton Rouge, LA surrounded by her loving family. She will be missed, yet fondly remembered by all who knew her.
“Pat” leaves a legacy of love entrusted to her daughters: Alyssa Pate (Terence) Nelson, Alexis Wroten Patterson, Aaliyah Wessinger and Pamela Cox Hall; eight grandchildren, Tysean Briggs, Sr., Terence Briggs, Kimini Pate, Tytiana Nelson, Ormond Bradford, Tierra Nelson, Jonathan Patterson, and Justyce Patterson; one great-grandson, Tysean Briggs, Jr.; her parents, Lillie Dupree Pate and Lawrence Pate, Sr.; five brothers, Lawrence (Iva) Pate, Jr., Alfred (Terry) Pate, Sr., Bryant (Brittany) Pate, Donnell Pate and Alex Pate; three sisters, Sandra (James) Pate Poole, Bridget Pate and Louhanna Mims; four life-long friends, Darrell Matthews, Velma Harris, Odelia Issac and Shelita Doyle; a companion, Thomas Wheelock and also a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, Godchildren, other friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Wessinger; grandparents, Sidney & Olivia Dupree, Sr. and James & Ella Belle Pate, Sr.; two Godchildren, Torry Wessinger and Jermaine Cox; two aunts, Mary Helen and Sherill K. Pate and one uncle, Joseph C. Dupree.
