On July 5, 2025, Carl Prentiss Grayson heard the voice of God and went to his new home prepared for him.
Carl was born on March 7, 1976, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to the union of Edward Lee and Marian Grayson. He received his education in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System and was a proud graduate of the Istrouma High School Class of 1994. After graduation, he attended electrical engineering school and later became self-employed.
Carl accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Dr. Charles R. Thomas Sr. at Mount Hope Baptist Church in Denham Springs, Louisiana. He later moved his membership to Rose Hill Baptist Church, also under the leadership of Dr. Charles R. Thomas Sr., where he enjoyed singing in the choir.
Carl was a quiet and gentle person who served as an inspiration to his family and friends. He was a talented singer and skilled electrician.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Marian Grayson; one brother, Edward (Deshawn) Grayson; one daughter, Charleigh Grayson; one stepson, James Williams; a devoted fiancée, Ivy Fisher; nieces A'lya Grayson, Trinity Fisher, and Saige Fisher; nephew Ezra Grayson; godchild Noah Brown; godfather and uncle Troy Thomas Sr.; uncles Eddie Grayson, Charles Grayson, and James Moore; aunts Bobby Griffey and Thelma Kelley; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Carl was preceded in death by his father, Edward L. Grayson Sr.; grandparents Sam and Thelma Keller, and Eddie and Viva Grayson Sr.; and two uncles, Winston Thomas and Bruce Keller.
