Obituary
Charles Joseph “Peelhead” Harris, Sr., took his final breath on February 7, 2022 at 10:30pm. He was born on December 21, 1941 to the union of the late Doretha and Joe Harris. He was baptized at an early age. He was a graduate of McKinley Senior High School. He retired from Louisiana State University after thirty years of service.
Charles married Ellen Harris and to their union six children were born, Joe Lynette, June Lynette, Charles Jr., Brenda Lee, Karen Michelle, and Cenetra Denise. Charles enjoyed hanging out with his friends. Charles was known to wear a toothpick in his mouth and did not take it out for anyone or anything.
Those left to cherish his memories include: his four daughters, Joe Lynette Darville, June Lynette Harris Clark, Brenda Lee Harris, Karen Michelle Harris and one son, Charles Harris, Jr all of Baton Rouge, La. His Sisters, Marion Butler (Baton Rouge, La) and Theresa Harris (Gonzales, La). 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild. God-daughter, Sharon Scott Cummings, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Charles Joseph Harris was proceeded in death by his parents Joe and Doretha Harris; His wife Ellen Harris; Daughter, Cenetra Harris; Brothers, James, Gerald, George, and Vincent Harris; Sisters, Doristine Cummings and Marjorie Gaines.
