Joshua Omega Smith, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, was born on August 21, 1989, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Joseph Smith and Gwendolyn Michelle Turner Smith. From birth, Joshua was raised in the church and nurtured in faith. He was a devoted member of Temple of God Church, where he was baptized and served faithfully.
Joshua attended Park Elementary School and later entered the workforce. Throughout the years, he held several positions and was always known for his strong work ethic and positive spirit. One of his most meaningful chapters in life was during his time employed with Bonnecaze Plumbing, where he not only worked, but also gained another family who cared for him deeply. His most recent employment was with Albertsons, where he worked in the deli department.
Joshua had a deep passion for food and enjoyed exploring the latest cuisines. He loved cooking for others, and sharing a meal was one of his favorite ways to show love. Outside of the kitchen, he enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, and cheering for his favorite football team — Alabama.
Joshua loved children dearly and took immense joy in being an uncle to his three nieces and seven nephews. His family and friends will forever remember his humor, kindness, and the generous heart he shared with everyone around him.
Joshua leaves to cherish his memory his loving family, including his siblings:
• Rodrick Turner
• Quincy Turner
• Joseph Turner (late)
• Nigel Smith
• Tamar Smith
His presence made life brighter, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
