Louis Smith was born on March 14, 1931, in Denham Springs Louisiana, he was a long-time resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Louis Smith was united in holy matrimony to Katie Stevens Smith in 1967 and spent 56 loving years together. Louis Smith entered into eternal rest on June 9, 2024, at the age of 93. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. Survived by his wife, Katie Stevens-Smith, and three daughters Brenda S. Howard (Herman); Shirley S. Foster (Kenneth) and Miya L. Smith (Jeffery Cleckley); two brothers-in-law Ronald Stevens (Alice); Robert Stevens; two sisters-in-law Patricia (Spencer Tillotson) and Sheryl Johnson; eight grandchildren Kenyatta F. Walton (Donald); Kenneth J Foster Jr.; Angellica Williams (Macke); Herman Howard Jr.; Magen H. Parker (Joshua); Jaeyden Cleckley; Maeysen Cleckley; and Cannon Cleckley, seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grand; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives, and friends. Proceeded in death by his parents Lee Ellen and Sally Grant Smith; two sons Melvin Smith, and Donald Smith, three brothers Joseph, Willie Lee, and Leroy Smith, three sisters Elizabeth Smith, Ella Johnson, and Leola Heisser; one great-grandson Kenneth J Foster lll. one great-granddaughter Kennedy Foster; Visitation will be held on Monday 17, 2024 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 1567 Curtis Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70807 Pastor by Father Thomas Clark. Celebration of Life services at 11:00 am. Entombment Southern Memorial Garden Cemetery of Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70807. Funeral Entrusted to A Hamilton Platinum Funeral Services.
