Martha Louise (Knox) Dickerson

Martha Louisie Knox Farmer Gills Dickerson, 87, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.

Born June 30, 1938, to Irene C. Mays and King Knox, Martha was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Donaldson Chapel Baptist Church. A dedicated entrepreneur, she owned and operated Martha Louise Cleaning Service and enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening, decorating, and spending time with family.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Dennis W. Farmer, Yolanda Gail Watson, and Lorella R. Gills; special friend, Bobby Parker; nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; siblings Augustine M. Jackson, Betty J. Hardy, Albert K. Knox (Yvonne), Eleanor B. Joseph, Betty Geurin (Fred), Patricia Lockett, Carol Williams, and Glenera Fountain; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Otanis Farmer, William Gills, and Hebert Dickerson; daughter Erica Faye Gills; granddaughter April Farmer; great-granddaughters Elaura Frank and Azrael Hampton; and siblings Gloria D. West, Marion Redditt, Dorothy Dorsey, Audrey James, Barbara J. Glasper, Roland Knox, E.J. Marshall, and Richard H. Knox.
