Michael Alexander

On Monday, April 10, 2023, God in his infinite wisdom and perfect plan called his creation, Michael Alexander by name to come and take his rest. To the union of Frank and Lillie Mae Frazier Alexander, Michael Alexander was born September 25,1952 in South Baton Rouge, LA. 

Michael lived his entire life in Baton Rouge where he was baptized at St. Luke Baptist Church at a very early age and graduated from McKinley High School. Michael spent many years employed delivering building materials for State Lumber Company and could be seen many days smiling and waving his gloved hands to his family, friends, and the South Baton Rouge residents while making deliveries. 

Memories of Michael will always remain in the hearts of those that loved him; two sisters, Odeather (Lionel) Wooders and Edna (Henry) Johnson, and one daughter Keisha (Lawrence) Payton. Michael also assisted in raising Sidney, Mary and Shantel Ellois as his own son and daughters. 3 grandchildren Kelsy, Lawrence Jr. and Kyla Payton. Michael is cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Michael was preceded in death by both of his loving parents, two brothers, Frank (Brother) Alexander, Jr. and Sullivan (Bootsie)Street, two sisters Mary Elaine (Lainey) and Betty (Linda) Alexander, a nephew Derrick Alexander and the mother of his only child Rose Mary Matthews. 

The family is appreciative of the long-term care provided by the professional staff at the Mid City Nursing Facility where the staff loved his meek, humble and quiet personality. 

Rest on Michael Alexander as those that remain await the reunion at the sound of the trumpet on that Great Day.
