Theresa Butler Isaac, 79, a native and resident of Maringouin, Louisiana, transitioned peacefully to her heavenly home at 1:00 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at her daughter’s residence in Madisonville, Louisiana. Sister Isaac was born in Maringouin, Louisiana on October 3, 1942 to the union of the late John Butler Sr. and Tessie Ventress Butler. She was baptized at an early age by the late Reverend Isaiah McCoy at Shiloh United Methodist Church. On December 22, 1962, she married the late Jerry Lee Isaac, Sr., and to this union, three children were born. Sister Isaac was very active at Shiloh United Methodist Church, where she served as an Usher and Treasurer, until she could no longer serve. She was a retired Cook Manager for Walmart.
Sister Isaac enjoyed watching the Saints, SU Jaguars, and LSU Tigers football. She loved to cook and was always called upon to help prepare and serve meals for fundraisers at her church and repasts in her community. She will be missed by family and friends whose lives she touched, with her many acts of kindness and generosity. She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter Leticia Renee Woods of Madisonville, Louisiana.; two sons Jerry Lee Isaac Jr. (Lalita) of Houston, Texas and Jermaine Le’Dell Isaac (Shalonda) of Lafayette, Louisiana. Four grandchildren, Breona Derozan, Emyia Woods, Bryson Williams, and Ja’Myrik Isaac. Four sisters, Sadie Nelson of Port Allen, Louisiana, Alice Brown (Freddie) of Los Angeles, California, Barbara Dorsey (William) of Lomita, California and Linda Webb of Fordoche, Louisiana; two brothers Horace Butler, Sr. and Curtis Butler of Los Angeles, California and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Sister Isaac was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry Lee Isaac, Sr.; parents John Butler, Sr. and Tessie Ventress Butler; brothers, John Butler, Jr. and Howard Butler, Sr.; sister, Tessie B. Handy; and son-n-law, Carlton R. Woods.
